Paleo Times March 2001 NewsletterGreetings Brethren, Praise Almighty Yahweh! The Feast of Unleavened Bread is almost here. Although I didn't see the New Moon here on March 25th many did in the Southwestern US. March 26th Nehemiah Gordon sent out a confirmation that the New Moon was visible in Jerusalem, Israel. With all the violence that we see on the news from Israel it is great to hear the Nehemiah is still free to look for the New Moon. Paleo Times would like to welcome your comments. We would like to hear your comments about the topics that we cover. Maybe there is another topic that you would like to read about let us know. Also we need your input into our new Question for the Brethren Section. We would like to hear your point of view. As we approach the Feast of Unleavened Bread many have asked what to do or how to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The first thing to do is clean your home of leavening. Take anything that contains yeast, baking powder, or baking soda and pitch them in the trash or give them to the needy. Abib 14 which is April 8th is the day that you are to clean your home and make sure that all leaven products are out. The interesting thing is that you will find leavening in the places where you least expect it. I found leavening last year on my barbecue chips. Second make a plan on how you will keep Passover and Unleavened Bread. Laura and I will be keeping the Passover here at home with our children. The night of April 7th we plan to have a meal in remembrance of Yahshua and the trial that he was going through. (John 13:6, Luke 22) At 3:00 PM on April 8th we plan to spend some time in prayer. This would be around the time where Yahshua died. We are planning on having a small meal with bitter herbs (horseradish), and unleavened bread. We will then read Exodus 12-13 and explain to John why we keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. April 8/9 and April 14/15 are Holy Days. We will spend the first Holy Day studying the Bible as a family and the last Holy Day with my parents. The Feast of Unleavened Bread is a time to discuss the scriptures. A time to figure out what is doctrine of men and what is of Yahweh. It is also a joyous time to remember the freeing of Israel from the bondage of the Pagan Egyptians. Lets pray that our bondage is lifted. Yahweh Bless, James Meyer Question for the Brethren Should we use the visual sighting of the New Moon from Jerusalem, Israel? Assembly Edification The following compositions are articles and short stories submitted by brethren and sisters to edify the Assembly. If you have written a composition that you would like included please submit it through email or postal mail. Faith F ocus on Spiritual things like Yahweh's Holy Words and Yahshua's Way of Life, not on the obstacles that block your way to the Kingdom. A void doubt and fear that cause you to stumble. I ntangible thing can only be seen by opening your heart and not your eyes. T rust Yahweh completely to find ways and do wonders for you. H umbly prove your beliefs by your works. FAITH is believing in unseen things which you hope for, and being sure without any doubt nor fear. For doubt and fear are obstacles of the Adversary (Satan the Devil) to stop you from obeying Yahweh and becoming fruitful. By seeing, you cannot see, because it is only by believing that you'll clearly see. If you have Faith in Yahweh, impossible things like moving mountains become possible because you believe and doubt not. Remember, it is impossible to please Yahweh without Faith (Hebrews 11:6). But beware of pride, because when it comes in, Faith goes out. We need Faith with work as a proof of our belief to become fruitful everyday. Therefore, like Abraham, let us walk and live by Faith and not by sight. Above all, Yahweh's people should strive to have the Faith of Yahshua Messiah, Who endured all things, and was obedient and faithful to Yahweh unto the end. Composed by: Claribel G. Garcia Did You Know? Sadducees These were the wealthiest and most powerful Jews in the New testament period. They dominated the Sanhedrin and the priesthood in Jerusalem. They differed from the common people. They accepted only the Torah, the Bible's first five books, as sacred. And, unlike most Jews in that era, they had no belief in an afterlife. Like the Pharisees, they disapproved of Yahshua, and on one occasion they came to Him which a ridiculous questions about marriage in the afterlife, which Yahshua answered wisely Matt. 22:23-33. Acts 23 describes Paul's trial before the Sanhedrin, where he cleverly played off one party against another. Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees the others Pharisees, called out to the Sanhedrim, "Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee; concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!" [v 6]. He said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided. Pharisees This group is mentioned dozens of times in the New Testament--usually with disapproval. They were the most religious of the Jews, striving to follow Israel's law to the letter. But they could be self-righteous and hypocritical, and on many occasions Yahshua preached against them. Yahshua's concern was that they had created a religion of rules and had forgotten the goals: loving Yahweh and one's neighbors. He told His followers that, in this respect, they had to be more righteous than the Pharisees, Matt. 5:20. Though most Pharisees despised Yahshua and worked to bring about His execution, some invited Him to their homes. The most famous Pharisee of all, one who originally persecuted true believers, was Paul, who became one of the greatest apostles. Scribes In New testament times, experts in Jewish law were called "scribes" [or teachers of the Law" or "lawyers" in some translation]. Yahshua had harsh words for them, because they like the Pharisees were fastidious about adhering to the rule but often forgot the importance of genuinely loving Yahweh and other people. They were respected by the people, but Yahshua saw that they could be self-righteous and hypercritical, with a religion of rules instead of serving Yahweh Matt. 23:l-2. The scribes looked down on Yahshua for mixing with the common people and social outcasts. Sanhedrin This was the Jewish ruling council in the New Testament period. Technically, the land where Yahshua walked was under Roman rule, but in religious matters the Sanhedrin was in charge. The group, composed of older and respected Jewish leaders, including priests, was the final court of appeal for questions about Jewish law. It had its own police military force and could decide whether prophets were true or false, and whether a person was guilty of blasphemy. The scriptures present the Sanhedrin as a rather nasty group, dedicated to preserving their own position and violently opposed to Yahshua. Only one member, Joseph of Arimathea, is described as a good man and secret follower of Yahshua. The book of Acts shows, the Sanhedrin opposed the first true believer as much as they had opposed Yahshua Himself. The apostles Peter and John were jailed and interrogated because they had been preaching that Yahshua was raised from the dead, Act 4. Later, Peter told the council "We ought to obey Yahweh rather than men," Acts 5:29. One wise member of the council. Gamaliel, advised moderation in dealing with the followers. Even so, the Sanhedrin ordered the apostles flogged. Later, the Sanhedrin accused Stephen of blasphemy, a trial that resulted in Stephen being stoned to death. Paul ran afoul of the Sanhedrin when he was falsely accused of taking a Gentile into the Jewish temple courts. Paul took advantage of a theological split in the council causing a riot in the council. Even so, the Sanhedrin regrouped and plotted to kill Paul, and would have succeeded had he not been under Roman protection. Publicans These men were tax collector working for the Roman Empire. They were unpopular people, and Jewish publicans were dispised by fellow Jews, who saw then as collaborators with the hated Romans. Many of them were dishonest, scouring off extra funds for their own pockets. Though they were social outcasts, Yahshua chose to socialize with them, and He even chose one [Matthew] as one of His twelve disciples. Zacchaeus was a publican whom Yahshua visited and blessed [Luke 19]. Yahshua also told a parable of a humble publican who could only pray. {Yahweh, be merciful to me a sinner!" [ Luke 18:13]. Zealots The great world power in the New Testament era was Rome, and most of the people Rome conquered resented their status. In Israel, a Jewish patriotic party came into being, the Zealots. They weren't above resorting to violence, even assassination, and their actions eventually led to all-out war with Rome. Rome won, naturally, and one result of the war was the destruction, in 70 CE of the temple in Jerusalem. One of Yahshua's twelve disciples was Simon the Zealot, Lk. 16:15. The twelve were a mixed bag, since another disciple was the tax collector Matthew, a man whose job required collaboration with the Romans. by Mona Perry An Encouraging Word A weekly egroup containing an encouraging word from the Bible, a prayer and praise list, for ladies who are "Followers of Messiah". This is to let you know that I am considering starting an egroup for sharing inspirationals, prayer, praise, testimonies, etc. I will send a weekly devotional or inspirational writing from my treasure chest, probably every Friday which will consist of no more than 3 or 4 pages in length. Members will be free to submit inspirationals, nuggets, poems, or treasures. It does not have to be your own writing, but something that you may have read and which you believe will uplift and encourage your sisters. All articles printed in "An Encouraging Word" will be in the Sacred Name of Yahweh and Yahshua format. So if you submit someone else's article you will need to notify them that you are making this change in their article. I am open to share with anyone not familiar with the Covenant Names, but the rule is firm and will not be altered under any circumstances. Secondly, I am considering adding the Bible Study "As Silver Refined" by Kay Arthur. This (later) addition to "An Encouraging Word," will take a bit of time to set up but I am willing to spend the time, because I found this study to be an excellent explanation for those who do not understand why good people suffer. I found it comforting to know that Yahshua sits as the Refiner of his people and that He, alone, controls the refining process. I am positive that you will find this scripturally based Bible Study a wonderful tool in your own walk of faith and in ministering the Father's Love to other Sisters. If for any reason the author does not grant permission for me to use the study or she objects to my use of the Sacred Names, I will write my own Bible Study. This weekly email publication will not begin until I get back to Kentucky the middle of April, because I will be changing internet servers the lst of April. Waiting until mid April will give me (and you) time to organize, get some articles ready, and time for you to look in your treasure chest and email me anything you might want to put in a future issue "An Encouraging Word." If we go forth with this egroup, I will establish a clear set of guidelines. For now, let me say that this email publication will be primarily for encouraging your Sisters, praying for each other, sharing your blessings, and Holy Spirit inspirationals. This email publication will NOT be used to discuss doctrinal issues or "touchy" subjects; Nor to promote products, Assemblies or organization. Well there you have it, ARE YOU INTERESTED? Send me an email right away and as soon as we get enough interested I will notify each of you. Please share this email with others in your Assemblies or Bible Studies who might be interested in a ladies weekly encouragment. Have them contact me personally. Your suggestions and opinions are welcome. I have started a new yahoo email account especially for "An Encouraging Word." Send your inquiries, opinions and registration to the email address listed at the end of this message. May Yahweh richly bless you as you submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit. May this email publication, "An Encouraging Word" truly be for His Glory and our edification. Norma Louise Daulton anencouragingword@yahoo.com Question and Answer When is Divorce allowed? The most basic answer is never with a one exception. Marriage is to be for life, as we find in Genesis 2:23-24. And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:23-24 NKJV) When something is one flesh the only way that they would be separated is for both to die. You cannot cut living creatures in two without both halves dying. Through the law that Yahweh gave Moses a writ of divorce was allowed. "When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some uncleanness in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, "when she has departed from his house, and goes and becomes another man's wife, "if the latter husband detests her and writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her as his wife, "then her former husband who divorced her must not take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before Yahweh, and you shall not bring sin on the land which Yahweh your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance. (Deuteronomy 24:1-4 NKJV) The word uncleanness here was polluted over time to mean that if the man didn't like the women he could divorce her. According to the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance uncleanness is nudity, literally (especially the pudenda) or figuratively (disgrace, blemish). This divorcement wasn't to be given just because the husband didn't like the wife anymore. It was more serious. Yahshua clarifies what uncleanness is in Matthew 5:31-32. "Furthermore it has been said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' "But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery. (Matthew 5:31-32 NKJV) Sexual immorality in Matthew 5:32 is translated fornication in the KJV. Fornication by some has been misinterpreted as being intercourse before marriage during the betrothal period. Of course this is not true because we know that Yahshua is quoting Deuteronomy 24 here in Matthew 5:31 which refers to divorce after the consummation of marriage. We will discuss the betrothal period a little later in relation to this verse. Fornication is defined by Strong's Exhaustive Concordance as harlotry (including adultery and incest); figuratively, idolatry. The word pornography comes from the Greek word porneia which is translated fornication in the KJV and sexual immorality in the NKJV. The Online Bible Greek Lexicon defines porneia as: 1) illicit sexual intercourse 1a) adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc. 1b) sexual intercourse with close relatives; Lev. 18 1c) sexual intercourse with a divorced man or woman; #Mr 10:11,12 2) metaph. the worship of idols 2a) of the defilement of idolatry, as incurred by eating the sacrifices offered to idols Fornication is defined as two things, sexual immorality or idolatry. Yahshua clarified the uncleanness and also reiterated the importance of marriage. The above sub definition 1c defines fornication from Mark 10:11-12. And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. (Mark 10:11-12 AV) This is meant to answer two questions. One is can a man put away his wife and marry another? The answer is that he would be committing adultery against her. The other is can a woman put away her husband and marry another? The answer to this was that she would be committing adultery against her husband. The interesting thing is that the word put away here is not necessarily divorce. The word put away is the Greek word apoluo which means to free fully, i.e. (literally) relieve, release, dismiss (reflexively, depart), or (figuratively) let die, pardon or (specially) divorce according to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. This word is used 69 times in the New Testament. Here are two out of the many examples of where apoluo is used and simply means to part: Matthew 14:15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send (apoluo) the multitude away (apoluo), that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. Matthew 15:39 And he sent away (apoluo) the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala. The word for divorce is defined as a separation and so the Greek word apoluo covers all kinds of separations whether it is from debt or from a spouse it is used interchangeably. According to some references this line of questioning was due to the fact that there were spouses being put away without a writ of divorcement. One possible example is Joseph's reaction to Mary being pregnant during the betrothal period. Joseph fearing for Mary's life was going to put her away privately. This would of certainly meant her death since she was not married and was pregnant. The law and Yahshua's teachings don't make any mention of divorce before marriage. Thus this private separation was not necessarily divorce. This separation never occurred because an angel of Yahweh explained that the child Mary was caring was of the Holy Spirit. The law required the writ of divorcement. It was not a clear-cut separation unless the writ was given. So without the writ of divorcement either spouse would be committing adultery because they were still married. The only exception for divorce is fornication, which is the uncleanness that Deuteronomy 24 gave as the only acceptable reason to divorce. There are many scriptures that give advice on making a marriage successful. (Deuteronomy 24:5+) One of those is the change in heart. Yahweh clearly didn't want divorce but because of the hardness of a people's hearts divorce was permitted. Divorce in our society has reached an all time high. People are being divorced because of any reason imaginable. So why teach on this subject at all? Truth is important brethren. There are all kinds of paths that we have taken to end up here. Don't let this deter you from keeping Yahweh's laws. Yahweh's laws are not just the laws of Yahweh but are our laws if they are written in our hearts. When we submit ourselves to Yahweh we must do it with a different heart than the heart of the world. This heart challenges us to follow Yahweh with love and compassion. One flesh is the result of marriage and death is result of divorce. This world is challenged because some people are truly wicked. Some of the reasons for divorce are justified both scripturally and for the love of Yahweh's little ones. Child abuse and spousal abuse are signs of the wickedness of this world and are clear justifications for divorce. Unfortunately the punishment for those who commit such horrid crimes is not death. When a child or our own life is in danger it seems imperative to separate. Such a marriage could not be called one flesh or even what Yahweh has joined. There are hardened hearts almost anywhere we look but we must look beyond simple disagreements to the love of one another. What Yahweh has joined let no man put asunder. As men and women in the faith we may be joined to an unbeliever. This may add stress to a fragile union but to make it successful both must work at the relationship. We should be an example to an unbelieving spouse. Maybe through our love Yahweh will influence the heart of the unbeliever to call on Yahweh. Yahweh has meant since the beginning of time for a marriage to be between a man and a women for life. As Yahshua said because of the hardness of their hearts divorce was allowed. Some of those who are unbelievers have this hardness. Some of those who call themselves believers have this hardness yet today. Our society to the most part has lost the respect for marriage. Once we understand this topic we are responsible to keep Yahweh's law. Through Yahweh's blessings we become one flesh in marriage by putting aside what we individually want rather working together as a united flesh. People come to the faith from all walks of life repentant and changed. These people are Yahweh's people just as much as those born into the faith. I fear that the wrong ideas maybe taught to those who have been divorced or those who have been divorced and remarried that they are not equal. Brethren Yahshua is truly the equalizer else what would the waters of baptism really accomplish. Once you enter into Baptism committed to Yahweh and Yahshua you are starting a renewed life or a life begotten from above. Your life should be lived for Yahweh's righteousness and love. Brethren I pray for your marriage that it survives the hardest times. Please always remember your commitment to one another. Remember your commitment to Yahweh and Yahshua. Featured Article Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread
Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread are very important to us because they represent the setting free from bondage. In Egypt that bondage was not only the evils of the Egyptians but it was also their pagan worship. The Egyptians worshipped many deities giving each deity power over the different natural occurrences. With each plague Yahweh demonstrated His power above what the Egyptians worshipped. The final plague showed that even Pharaoh was under Yahweh's rule. Pharaoh's own son was killed because Pharaoh wouldn't allow Yahweh's people to go into the wilderness to serve Him. "And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith Yahweh Elohim of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness." (Exodus 5:1) As we read through Exodus twelve we find that on the tenth day of Abib the lamb (or goat) was taken into the home. This confuses the whole idea of don't play with your food for a good reason. The lamb was dear to the family perhaps even a pet. As you become closer to a pet you realize that the pet has some human characteristics. The life of the lamb means much more to you because you see its personality. When the fourteenth day comes the lamb is to be killed between the evenings and its blood was to be put on the lintel and the doorposts. Part of the description of between the evenings is here in Exodus 12:6 and also in Exodus 16:12. Exodus 16:12 speaks of the quails that Yahweh gave to Israel to eat. This gives you an idea of what time the quail were on the earth or at least that it was still light. They're many different ideas on what between the evenings means in Exodus 12:6 but from Yahshua's example we find that he was dead at 3:00PM on the 14th of Abib. Yahshua the Messiah had to be taken down and buried in the tomb by sunset because it was a holy day. This is a subject that we will continue with later in this article. In Exodus 12 Yahweh continues saying that the lamb is to be roasted whole. Later in the scriptures we find the entrails were taken out. Yet the animal was roasted whole meaning that the skin, hair, eyes, etc. where not removed. Not a bit of the lamb was to remain until morning. What did remain was to be burnt with fire until it was gone. Yahweh says in verse 11 of Exodus 12 that we are to eat the Passover with our shoes on and fully dressed ready to go. Yahweh knew that as soon as the death angel passed through Egypt the Egyptians would be very afraid. So he had Israel ready to go immediately. In verse 31 and 32 Pharaoh tells Moses to take his people and all their belongings out of Egypt so that they can worship Yahweh. Numbers 33:3 tells us that Israel left on the 15th day of the Month of Abib. In Exodus 12:24-27 Yahweh says that this shall be an observance forever. Yahweh tells us that we are to tell our children the story of Passover and how Yahweh brought His people out of bondage to worship Him. Yahweh allows people of non-Israel lineage to partake of the Passover as long as they were circumcised. (Exodus 12:43-50) Today we are also circumcised of the heart but also baptized into the name of Yahshua. We are not to partake of the Passover unworthily. When speaking of Yahshua it is important to note that in verse 46 of Exodus 12 that no bone was to be broken. We find that Unleavened Bread is to be eaten for seven days. The Unleavened Bread symbolizes the shedding of leaven. In Israel's case it was the wickedness of Egyptian religion. There is almost no way that Israel remained pure from paganism while in Egypt for some 400 years. The construction of the golden calf shows the pagan influence. Yahweh through Moses gave the law once again to Israel. Pentecost is considered by Jewish authorities to be the time when Yahweh gave Israel the law from mount Sinai. Passover There are two different words translated Passover in the Hebrew Scriptures. One means the animal victim and is Strong's number 6453. The other is usually translated "pass over" which means to spring over and is Strong's number 6452. This is important because without this understanding we would tend to lump both meanings together. The fact is that there is a 14th Passover (the sacrifice of the lamb) and 15th pass over. The 14th of Abib is the preparation not only for the animal sacrifice but also the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The Passover is to be eaten with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Yahweh's people were not able to keep the Feast Unleavened Bread in Egypt because of Egypt's wickedness. This is the reason that Moses originally asked to take the people into the wilderness 3 days journey to have a feast to Yahweh. (Exodus 5:1-3) This relation of Srong's number 6452 and animal sacrifice can be seen in Exodus 12:11. "And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is Yahweh's passover." (Exodus 12:11) Yahweh's Passover is the animal victim that Israel ate huddled together in small huts the evening of the fourteenth of Abib. Evening The evening of the fourteenth has different meanings to different people. There are two basic theories as to what part of the fourteenth is evening. Some conform to the beginning of the fourteenth and some to the end of the fourteenth. Those who conform to the beginning of the fourteenth state refer to Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, and 31 where it is written evening and the morning and it was the first, second, third, etc. day. The other definition is that it is at the end of the day. The second definition is supported through Leviticus 23:32 where it is written that Atonement is to be kept on the ninth day at even till the next even. Through other scriptures we know that Atonement is to be kept on the 10th of the seventh month. Definitions given by different resources define this as either the time from noon to darkness or the 6th hour of daylight to the end of the12th hour of daylight Biblical time. The Jews during the time of Yahshua were also in disagreement over this issue. The Sadducees and the Pharisees differed in the time that they kept the Passover. The Old Testament proves which theory is correct by giving key words within the scriptures. We find that the wording for "it in the evening" in Exodus 12:6 is "beyn ereb" which are Strong's numbers 996 and 6153 respectively. Beyn means between and ereb means dusk. Exodus 12:6 and Exodus 16:12 are two of the places that "between the two evenings" is used. In both verses it would still have to be light for the Israel to kill the lambs or for Israel to collect the quail. So what time where the lambs and goats killed? We know that they were killed on the fourteenth. That is clear in all the scriptures. The time is either the hour of dusk after the sunset to the time of darkness or it was the time from noon to darkness on the fourteenth. I prefer the later because of the time factor involved here. Israel was to roast the lamb whole. This would take a while but would work with either theory. Some estimate that it would take anywhere from three to six hours. The thing is that they were to eat the meal with their shoes on their feet and their staff in their hand. (Ex. 12:11) This means that they had to be ready to go on a whim. It even says that they were to eat it quickly. Pharaoh rose up that same night and told Moses and Aaron to leave. (Ex. 12:30-24) In verse 34 says that the people took their dough before it was leavened. "And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders." (Exodus 12:34) We find that the night that they left was the night of the 15th in Numbers 33:3. Putting this all together I believe helps us also understand the timing of Yahshua the Messiah's death. The Last Supper Yahshua was impaled after a trial that even the egotistic Roman Pilot was not willing to be part. Yahshua was impaled and died at 3:00-3:30 PM our time or the 9th hour of daylight Biblical time. Yahshua's impalement was not a mistake. If we look at each thing like the casting lots for his garments and none of his bones being broken we find that nothing was by accident. (Psalms 22) Yahshua's last words were from Psalms 22:1. Referring all who saw what took place that day to the prophecy of him. The meal that Yahshua partook of before his sacrifice was not the Passover. This idea that the meal was the Passover is taken from the Roman Church. The Roman Church unaware of what the Passover really consisted of mostly because of their anti-Semitism. If the Roman Church would have been aware that what Yahshua did during the last supper was unlike what Exodus 12 tells us to do. "And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19) Just before this Yahshua said that he desired to eat the Passover with the disciples. Lets look at this: "And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of Yahweh." (Luke 22:15-16) Yahshua clearly expressed his love of the disciples that he desired to keep the Passover with the disciples but he will not be able to eat it with them until the coming kingdom of Yahweh. Other items that make this line of reasoning evident can be found in a word study of these verses. The word for bread in these verses is leavened bread. The greek word used for bread is artos which is Strong's number 740 and is actually leavened bread. 740. artov artos ar'-tos; from 142; bread (as raised) or a loaf:--(shew-)bread, loaf. The greek word for unleavened bread is azumos. 106. azumov azumos ad'-zoo-mos; from 1 (as a negative particle) and 2219; unleavened, i.e. (figuratively) uncorrupted; (in the neutral plural) specially (by implication) the Passover week:--unleavened (bread). Conclusion When we put all this evidence together we find that Passover is the fourteenth of Abib and Feast of Unleavened Bread is the fifteenth through the twenty-first of Abib. The time of Yahshua's death is significant because at the same time Yahshua dyed the lambs were being slaughtered. Three days later Yahshua arose on the Sabbath. Yahshua lives so that we may also live and have hope. When we keep the Passover lets look for the false doctrine in our lives so that we can shed it. Unleavened Bread is a week of repentance. Yahshua's sacrifice is greater than any animal and has given us the purest High Priest to ever lead us to salvation. Praise Yahweh for his many blessings! The following chart is to help show the timeline of Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
