Turmoil in the Toy Box

Phil Phillips

Starburst Publisher

Phil Phillips is a young evangelist who decided to check out a toy store one day and was shocked to see action figures that were clearly pagan in nature. After intense research, Phil exposed hidden satanic symbolism and insidious violence in mass marketed toys and cartoons.

Phil reports, "For years, manufactures have based products on popular television characters and shows. Today, however, the process is different. Cartoon writers and toys designers now collaborate efforts to release toys and cartoons simultaneously." The deliberate commercialization of toys through 30-minute cartoons. Today this would also include movies and food. Furthermore, the author deciphers pagan symbolism that may be obscured behind those cute lovable toys, remember Care Bears and Rainbow Pony.

Most of the toys discussed in the book have been off the market for some time. Nevertheless, the concepts still hold true today. Phil writes," Although imagination is a gift of [Yahweh], it can be influenced and perverted by outside forces."

I liked the chapters 2 through 5 because he enlightens the reader about the relationship between toys and children's development as well as the importance of parents' participation in children's play. The author quotes various scriptures that reasonably support his argument. However, the author does not use the sacred names. The words, "satanic and occult," are used through the book. That may turn some people off.

This is a good book for families that are concern with how the secular world is influencing their children. My husband and I had removed the toys we believed to be unfit for our son before we read Turmoil in the Toy Box. The book confirmed that we had done the correct thing.

Medical Maze Part 2

We as consumers would not consider purchasing an automobile without doing some research. We make sure that the services such as plumbers and electricians are competent. However, some of us do not feel comfortable treating doctors in the same fashion. Physicians are human and are subject to characteristic flaws. Why shouldn't the doctor's credentials that are nailed to his wall be enough? Searchpointe states, "Every year federal agencies and state boards discipline thousands of health care providers for medical incompetence, criminal activities and other causes. Many of these providers continue to practice and, in some instances, relocate to another state where their previous problems have not been publicized."

Some people do not feel comfortable asking their doctor about his/her education, license, and past medical practices. Here are some avenues to follow in your search for the right doctor for you and your family.

Credentials

To find out where and when the doctor was trained and whether he/she is board certified call

l Your states medical board.

l American Board of Medical Specialist if your doctor is a specialist (1-866-ASK-ABMS).

l The hospital that your doctor is associated.

Past medical Practice

Malpractice: a patient or a number of patients through the judicial court system bring on a civil action against a doctor (or doctors). Your doctor may have several malpractice payoffs on his record. This may mean that a patient filed complaint and the doctors insurance decided it would be cheaper to settle out of court. Beware if there is more then a half-dozen.

Sanction: (disciplinary action) means the state that has granted a doctor a license to practice medicine, may revoke that license or place that license on probation, for something the doctor has done or failed to do.

Each state has it's own criteria for granting a license, and also for the disciplining of a license. Sanction is serious and should be a big red flag.

To gather information on any disciplinary action against your doctor contact

l The County Clerk's records where the court proceeding took place.

l Your states medical board

l American Board of Medical Specialist if your doctor is a specialist (1-866-ASK-ABMS).

www.docboard.org: Association of State Medical Board Executive Directors web page. This page links to participating state licensing authorities.

I logged onto www.questionabledoctors.org. My state of Missouri was not on the list. Next, I went to www.searchpointe.com. I searched for my doctor by last name and state. It listed his full name, office addresses, education and board certification. If I wanted more in depth information I could order it for $9.95. Then I tried www.tese.com/cas I found the link to Missouri licensing board however it only had listing of doctors that are licensed. I did find that New York has a web page that list doctors that have been sanctioned, http://www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/opmc/main.htm.

It will take a little paper chasing but it vital that we take responsibility for our health care if not for yourself for your love ones.
