YOUR HELP NEEDED FOR FEAST OF TABERNACLES Yahweh's Assembly in Messiah owns its own campground. Brethren bring their trailers, vans, campers, and tents and set them up before the Feast begins. There are spots for tents with electricity and water and also sewer hookups for campers, trailers and motor homes. We encourage everyone to stay on the campground for the Feast, however there are a number of good motels within 15 miles. For information on motels in the area, please write or phone the office, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For those who prefer to rent a trailer from the Centralia, Missouri dealer, please contact them for prices. You furnish bedding, cooking utensils, dinner-ware, and your own groceries. The address and phone number are: Wehrman Camper Sales, 12221 Audrain Rd 971, Centralia, MO 65240; 573-682-3365. IF YOU PLAN ON RENTING A CAMPER FROM HIM, PLEASE CALL AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. U.S. Rents-it has several class C motor homes they rent out. Their address and phone number are 1600 Old Hwy 63 S, Columbia, MO 65201, 573-449-0066 or 1-800-391-2990. And again, you should call them as soon as possible if you need to rent a camper. Due to numerous problems we ask that no dogs be brought to the feast. Kennels are available nearby. Meals during the Feast are an individual responsibility. However, there will be a communal meal the first and last high day, and on the Sabbath during the Feast, when the brethren will gather to eat as a group. We plan to have a pancake breakfast and a wiener roast, for which all food will be provided. Volunteers to help clean up are appreciated. We ask that you plan to prepare your meals at your campsite, so that the kitchen can be used to prepare food for communal meals. There is limited freezer space available but all refrigerator space is needed for assembly meals. Please plan to keep your food at your campsite. Our ice machine should provide enough ice for everyone. Ladies' Day is always an enjoyable afternoon. The ladies are asked to bring a small wrapped gift ($5.00-$10.00 limit) for the gift exchange. A business meeting, a short program, fellowship and refreshments are part of the afternoon. Please bring a head covering and a Bible. Many activities are planned for all ages. If you plan to attend the Feast here in Rocheport, have children between the ages of 13 and 19, and have never been here before, be assured that there will be lots of fun things for them to do. The auction at the Feast is always a fun time also. Many of the brethren look forward to bidding on a memento of the feast, so bring along any hand-made or craft item you wish to donate. Items you no longer use in good condition can be donated also. All money raised goes to further Yahweh's work. Sometimes the young people attending public schools are expected to have a written request for excused absences to attend a religious meeting. This applies to many employees as well. We have forms available explaining the reason for the absences. Should you need a form, please write us here at Rocheport. The document will help make an absence more acceptable by both schools and employers. All those attending meetings should dress appropriately, especially on the first and last days of the Feast and the weekly Sabbath, for we are appearing before the King of the universe. We have recently instituted a dress code here in Rocheport. Absolutely no shorts are to be worn in services by either men or women. All shorts worn at other functions must be "approaching the knee." Please do not wear anything sleeveless, too tight or too short. Dresses with slits must have a slip underneath. Please abide by our rules regarding dress. If not, you may be asked to change. Remember that autumn nights in Missouri can be chilly, so bring enough warm clothes, a warm coat and perhaps gloves. Rain is also not uncommon this time of year. We are blessed to have a campground for Yahweh's people. Everyone of good faith is welcome. We are not requesting a camping fee; however, if anyone wishes to make a donation to help defray the costs involved in hosting a feast, it will be greatly appreciated. It would be very helpful also, if those planning on attending the Feast would return their registration form as soon as possible. The Feast theme this year is "They Will Know We Are Brethren By Our Love." |
