Sunday, April 14, 2002 Shalom Brethren, I would like to thank each of you for the many new moon reports. Here in Missouri the cloud cover made it impossible to see the new moon. The Virgin Islands brethren saw the new moon on April 13th at sunset. Also some brethren in Arizona and South Dakota sighted the new moon on April 13th. For some of us this is the second month of the biblical year while for others this is the beginning of the biblical year. I pray that for those of you keeping Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread this month that you have a blessed time. Yahweh Bless, James A. Meyer New Moon ReportsIsraelNew Moon Report, April 2002, Second Month Observers across Israel looked for the moon on Sunday April 14, 2002. Due to cloudy conditions the moon was not sighted even though it was "potentially visible" according to modern astronomical criteria. On the previous evening (Saturday April 13, 2002) there were clear conditions but the moon was not visible nor was it "potentially visible" from Israel. This makes the evening of Sunday April 14, 2002 (the 31st evening since the previous sighting) New Moon Day by default. Nehemia Gordon Sioux Falls, South DakotaShalom from Sioux Falls, The Second New Moon was observed this (first) evening in Sioux Falls, SD by Brian Lee, Patricia Trout, Jacob Lee, and Caleb Lee. We were also joined with Chad Poppen, who was unable to see it clearly due to poor eyesight since the moon was very low on the Horizon and a very thin crescent. The moon was clearly observed from 8:41 PM to 8:56 PM Central Daylight Time, on the 13th calendar day of the 4th Roman month. May this report bless all who receive it.
