Sunday, August 11, 2002 Shalom Brethren, The sixth biblical new moon was sighted Friday night, August 9th by brethren in Jerusalem and in many parts of the United States. We appreciate your confirmation of the new moon sighting. Here in Missouri we were unable to see the new moon due to cloud cover in the western sky. The Feast of Tabernacles is now only a month and a half away. If you have not made reservations we would like to encourage you to find a location near you. My family and I will be keeping the Feast in Rocheport, Missouri and would love to see you there. Three times a year Yahweh's people are to come together before Him. (Deuteronomy 16:16) This is to be a time of spiritual feasting as the scriptures are taught daily. We come together as students prayerfully guided by the Holy Spirit which was poured out after Yahshua the Messiah's ascension to heaven. (Acts 1 and 2) Deuteronomy 5:8 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 9 thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I, Yahweh, thy Elohim, am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me; 10 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. 11 Thou shalt not take the name of Yahweh thy Elohim in vain: for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou art a holy people unto Yahweh thy Elohim, and Yahweh hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth. Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Messiah Yahshua. 13 Brethren, I could not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, 14 I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of Elohim in Messiah Yahshua. The feasts give us time to come before Yahweh united in a faith that is not popular or worldly. With lovingkindness Yahweh revels the many blessings that our family has given us. We are one family, under Yahweh we are brethren of the same Father. Have a blessed Feast! Yahweh Bless, James A. Meyer Walnut Hill, FloridaJust for the record, I spotted the 6th new moon at 8:04 pm central time from Walnut Hill Florida, a rural suburb of northwest Flroida just 7 miles south of Alabama state line. Nehemia Gordon Fresno, CaliforniaI observed the new moon this evening (Aug. 9) at 8 p.m. It was higher in the sky than I expected, a little thicker than the 1% illumination two months ago. Just slightly north of true west. I saw it with my naked eyes, unassisted by optical lenses of any sort.
Shabbat Shalom, John Loveland, ColoradoShalom to all. On 8-9-02 at the beginning of the seventh day the moon very visible to the eye and was seen by Kevin Bitterman in Loveland Colorado.

Sincerely, Betsy Phoenix, ArizonaHi Jim! In case you're interested- I got your new moon lookout today and stepped out the door and there it was! A very pretty one, too. Its 7:55 Phoenix time- Shabbat Shalom! Kellie Sand Springs, Oklahoma.Brother James,
My family and I think that we saw the New Moon tonight from our yard in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. The New moon (if that is indeed what we saw) was a phenomena. We first spotted it at 8:11 PM. It just looked like an extra bright star or possibly a satellite high in the sky. I have seen it do that before and then the horns would become visible as it got later. However, it didn't get any more visible tonight and around 9:30 PM it completely faded into the cloudbank that was building up from the West. I think that the very thin clouds must have kept us from seeing the horns of the thin crescent until it completely dimmed and vanished in the dark cloud.
Shabbat Shalom, Arkie Silver Run, Maryland My wife Dianne and I sighted the new moon at 8:40 EDT at Silver Run, Maryland. This is about 40 miles NW of Baltimore. The Moon was a very thin sliver that was visible through some low haze.

I just sighted the new moon crescent that begins the 5th moonth. Please be aware the the 9th of this 5th moonth/Tishba Av is when many things historically have happened to Israel and the Jewish nation of Yahudah. Boththe first and second temples were destroyed on this day. So please watch and see what may come about on this date this year.
May all of you have a Blessed New Moon/Baruch ata Rosh Chodesh and Happy Sabbath/Baruch ata Shabbat,

Berry & Donna Rose South Africa, SaturdayShalom All,
Jessica and I saw the beautiful moon very high this evening at about 6 pm. No one that I know of saw it on Friday, but was confirmed by others all over SA tonight (Sat).
It seems that the trials get worse before the annual Holy days - can't help noticing the list is getting longer and the trials more severe. I wish that brethren would spare a prayer for the Zimbabwean farmers and the starving millions. This is so tragic - Robert Mugabe has carte blanche while the media looks the other way
May YAHWEH bless and protect us all from evil of every kind.
Agape BArbara Harrisonville, MissouriHi All, I was not able to see the New Moon last night. The sky was not clear here in Harrisonville, Missouri. If the sky was cleared I should been able to see the New Moon without any trouble. Today is a Shabbat and also a New Moon day. Hope you all have a nice Shabbat and New Moon day. Praise be to YHWH. Sincerely, Everett Lee Larned Rocheport, MissouriShalom Jim, we did not see the moon in Rocheport Nova Scotia, Canada, Saturday Greetings Jim, We watched for the new moon last evening and the sky was beautiful and clear but did not see the moon. It may have been too low in the sky for us to see because of out high horizon. We did however see it tonight at 8:40 p.m. and I have attached a picture of it. It looks like a day old moon rather than a new moon. Love in Yahweh and Yahshua's precious names Dave and family |
