Thursday, December 5, 2002 Greetings Brethren, Many brethren and sisters saw the tenth new moon Thursday night, December 5th. Praise Yahweh for the sign of the new month at the beginning of the scriptural day. It is a blessing to see how the many pieces of the calendar all fit together with such precision. Although estimated calendars are usually correct, some have noted discontent over the fact that with a visual sighting 100% accurate calendars with fixed months and feasts are impossible. This inability for exaction points to the fact that Yahweh wants us to be tied to him through Yahshua the Messiah and not a fixed calendar. The reason that I say this is because we are to flexible and willing to follow Yahweh at a moments notice. Consider the Memorial of the Blowing of Trumpets for example. We are on somewhat of a moments notice. This points to the fact that the signs leading up to Yahshua's return could be completely missed if we are not aware of what is going on around us. This spontaneity is completely contradictory to the way the world works but it makes complete sense when considering the result of not following almighty Yahweh. The new moon makes me think often of one of my favorite scriptures in Matthew. Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve Yahweh and mammon. 25 Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment? 26 Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value then they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life? 28 And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if Elohim doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Our worldly possessions rarely make it through even a fraction of our lives. What Yahshua the Messiah can give us is the only thing that remains consistent forever. He can give us the water that sustains us with which our thirst is quenched forever. John 4:13 Yahshua answered and said unto her, Every one that drinketh of this water shall thirst again: (speaking of the well water) 14 but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life. Following Yahweh requires flexibility in our daily lives so that when we are called we answer the call without looking back. The thirst for truth is a continual quest which perfects the saints. Let's pray for Yahweh's guidance! Yahweh Bless, James A. Meyer Venus, TexasShalom, Jim, My three oldest sons and a friend spotted the New Moon crescent for me right around 5:42 p.m. CST here in the Venus, Texas area. The skies were clear and the temperature was cold and crisp. Yours in Messiah, Gary W. McDaniel Family Columbia, MissouriDear Mr. Meyer:
The New Moon was easily observed this evening as I left work at 5:30 pm. As you know, I work at ABC Laboratories in Columbia. The property appears to be an ideal observation point, even on ABC Lane at the company gate. The elevation is high and the view of the western horizon is unobstructed.
If there are any individuals in the Columbia area who want to observe the New Moon the directions are thus: eastbound or westbound on I-70, take the Centralia exit; then turn left onto what appears to be a service road, this is ABC Lane and there is no outlet to I-70. The best viewing spot is probably inside the ABC Labs property, but entry to the property is restricted to employees only, after 5:00 pm. I strongly recommend that anyone who wants to view the New Moon from the vantage point just outside the gate should scout the area before hand.
Sincerely
