Greetings brethren,

Blow the shofar!  The ninth new moon was sighted.  Monday, November 24, 2003 there was only one report of two brethren who saw the new moon in Newberry Springs, California.  Many locations were clear with no sighting as it was for me here in Missouri.  Well after sunset it was bright and the red haze made it difficult to see much more than the beautiful sunset.

November 24th, 2003 - Not visible in Holts Summit, Missouri but a beautiful sky.

Brother Nehemia Gordon from Jerusalem, Israel reported the new moon was sighted there today, November 25th.  Brother John and Sister Rhonda Perry from Sidney, Maine sent some excellent pictures of the moon taken tonight, November 25th at sunset.  Those pictures can be found later in this report.  Thank you everyone for your reports.

Have a blessed ninth month!

Yahweh bless,

James A. Meyer

November 24 Reports

Newberry Springs, California

New moon was sighted by two of my regular witnesses in Newberry Springs, CA.  (Confirmation from Brother Rich Lobert Truth of Yahweh)

Danville, Virginia

Shalom Brother Jim,

The new moon could NOT be sighted in Danville tonight due to heavy rains. Don't think I have ever known it rain so much in this area in my lifetime.

One thing, some time ago I entered my mother in law on your prayer list. Her name is Marie Harris. She does not have a computer but often ask my wife, am I still on that list. It gave her comfort because she strongly believes in prayer. Her problem is spiritual warfare. Plus she has physical problems like diabetes and a couple other things I cannot pronounce. Please put her back on it if she is no longer listed.

With the most kindest best regards,

Berry

Note: Brethren please keep Sister Marie Harris in your prayers.

Brewton, Alabama

Hey James

Conditions were good here tonight.  But did Not see moon!

Bruce McCall

Northeastern Minnesota

No moon seen in northeastern Minnesota

Fresno, California

Thanks for the note! We didn't see the new moon here in Fresno due to cloud cover. What planetarium program did you use to produce the nice graphic? Yahweh bless, John Fisher

Note: The graphics were produced by Virtual Reality Laboratory's Distant Suns.  More information can be found on http://www.distantsuns.com/downloads.html free of charge.  New versions are available but I use version 1.2.

South Africa

Shalom,

We have cloud and rain, but the Muslims started Eid tonight, and the Shiite will start tomorrow night (news broadcast)

Dear Mr. Meyer:

This evening I could not see the new moon. There are trees that obstruct my view of the western horizon. Moonset was only half an hour after sunset and the glare from the set sun was strong, even 15 minutes past sunset. By then the moon may have fallen behind the trees.

Jay

Clarksville, Arkansas

Greetings Jim:

A band of clouds on the western horizon prevented sighting of the moon here at Clarksville, AR.

Shalom,
Frank Brown

Littlerock, Arkansas

No new moon here the 24th. Clear sky, with a very low view of the sky. Beautiful sunset though.

Ninth Month

On Tuesday November 25, 2003 the New Moon was sighted from Israel by:
*Mordecai Chayinah at 16:35 from Ramla
*Magdi Shamuel at 16:55 from Azur (near Tel Aviv)
*Ronen Eltanani-Farag from Beersheva

Rosh Chodesh Sameach (Happy New Moon)!

Nehemia Gordon

Sidney, Maine

Shalom,

After my third night of trying to see the new moon I am happy to say that I have finally seen it this evening in Sidney, Maine. It was sure worth the wait. It was some what cool out this evening (35 degrees and a cool
wind) after the sun went down but with camera and tripod in hand I had a fun time taking various pictures of the new moon and the planet Venus (Located to the Top and Right of the new moon). I first spotted it about 4:20pm eastern time and watched it till it set around 5:05pm. It was neat to watch it go from a light colored sky and a thin crescent to a darker colored sky and a thicker crescent with the circular shape of the moon being visible. I was telling my family at dinner this evening how I enjoy seeing the crescent moon each month when visible because it reminds me of the new moon during the Feast of Tabernacles and the new year.
Until next month - Shalom to you and yours. John & Rhonda Perry, Sidney, Maine.

November 25 - Pictures from Sidney, Maine.

North Carolina

Hi Jim,
This is Kathy Snyder, Katherine Pate's Mom. She called me tonight on her way to Virginia and asked me to email you to let you know that she and her family spotted the new moon in North Carolina this evening. She wanted me to tell you that it was awesome, as it looked like an orange sliver in the sky. She said it was the color of a harvest moon.
Here in southwestern Missouri, we were unable to spot the new moon, due to cloudiness.
Yahweh bless you and your family.
Shalom.

Eloret, Kenya

Here in Eldoret Kenya I could not see the new moon on 24 because of clouds it was drizzling. On 25 however it was visible . Yahweh bless you Brethren.
