Thursday, September 25, 2003 Greetings Brethren, I pray that this letter finds you blessed in the faith of Messiah Yahshua. The new moon that marks the seven month is finally upon us. This new moon has a slim possibility of being seen tomorrow night, Sept. 26th at sunset. Here in the central time zone the moon will only be 20 hours and 43 minutes old from the calculated time of the conjunction. In the pacific time zone the moon will only be 22 hours and 35 minutes old. If it is Yahweh's will this moon should be visible with the unaided eye in the southwestern parts of the US on Sept. 26th at sunset. The first sighting marks the beginning of the Memorial of Trumpets or Yom Teruah. Please send (New Moon) your reports including who, when, and where the new moon was seen. Reports will be posted on the Paleo Times "What's New Section" as soon as they become available. What's NewZikarown Say'fer, Memorial Scroll, is now available in a soft cover. A preview and ordering information can be found at http://www.lulu.com/paleotimes. This is a version of the Scriptures based on the American Standard Version (ASV). The Sacred Name Yahweh and our savior's name Yahshua are restored in the Bora script of Paleo Hebrew. The many restorations involve transliteration of pivotal words so that original meaning is preserved. This version of the Scriptures is meant to be easy on the eyes using opaque bright white paper and easy to read fonts. One great advantage of the larger print is more room for notes. The actual size is 8.4 inches by 10.9 inches. If you would like to give this Bible as a gift to a brother or sister in poverty please consider making a donation toward that end. We have received many requests already from brethren unable to afford a copy. There are many updates to the Paleo Times website monthly. Available now is the Biblical calendar for 2004. If you would like a copy please send your mailing information. The fellowship listing has also been updated. Fellowship Listing Verification of email addresses for the fellowship listing was done to make it a better experience when looking for fellow believers. You can follow changes and additions in the "What's New Section". Petitions for Yahweh's InterventionPlease keep the following brethren in your prayers. Feast of TabernaclesAs you can tell from this request for new moon reports the seventh month is here. In a little more than fifteen days we will be celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. I would love to see you and your family this feast. You know I have heard over the years many people express why we shouldn't keep Yahweh's Feast why we can't keep them right and what not. The truth is that when you keep Yahweh's feasts to the extent that you understand you will find joy and blessings beyond anything this world can offer. Through the joy and love of Yahweh's feast we are given a great chance to receive the promises. Yahshua the Messiah through his ultimate sacrifice on Abib 14 reconciled us to Yahweh so that we might once again have a righteous husband. So brethren my answer to those people who disregard Yahweh's feasts is that we don't do it for our own righteousness (there is no such thing) but so that we might experience some of Yahweh's righteousness. It is by Yahweh's righteousness that we will be judged. A taste of the joy of the Feast of Tabernacles, also called Sukkoth, is found in Nehemiah. Consider the context of this, Judah and remnants of Israel were taken away to Babylon. While in Babylon the word of Yahweh became a vague memory. Ezra opened the word of Yahweh and began to read. Nehemiah 8:8 And they read in the book, in the torah of Elohim, distinctly; and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading. 9 And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto Yahweh your Elohim; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the torah. 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy unto our Adonay: neither be ye grieved; for the joy of Yahweh is your strength. 11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved. 12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them. 13 And on the second day were gathered together the heads of fathers' houses of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to give attention to the words of the torah. 14 And they found written in the torah, how that Yahweh had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month; 15 and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and branches of wild olive, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written. 16 So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of Elohim, and in the broad place of the water gate, and in the broad place of the gate of Ephraim. 17 And all the assembly of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and dwelt in the booths; for since the days of Yeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness. 18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the torah of Elohim. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the ordinance. If you have never kept the Feast of Tabernacles please don't hesitate. Yahweh will provide you with everything you need. I invite you to take this time to go before Yahweh through Messiah Yahshua and ask for guidance. You will build a great respect for Yahweh's mitswah and the joy that He gives. I look forward to meeting you and your family. Yahweh willing Laura, the kids, and I will be keeping the feast this year in Rocheport, Missouri. You can find more information about the Yahweh's Assembly in Messiah's feast site and other feast sites in the "2003 FOT Guide". Yahweh bless, James Meyer |
