Saturday, April 9, 2005 Greetings brethren, Praise Yahweh, the new moon was visible in many parts of the US and in Dominica. The second new moon was sighted with the naked eye around 8:00PM here in Blue Springs, Missouri by the Meyer family. It was a very thin crescent that was difficult to see through the clouds but praise Yahweh it was visible until the clouds swallowed it up around 8:30PM. The new moon measured about 9 degrees above the horizon at 8:00PM. Beautiful sunset but a massive amount of cloud cover. 7:30 PM

Thank you for sharing your new moon sighting experiences. I would like to convey my enjoyment of the Chag Matzah. It was nice to spend the entire Feast with brethren in Rocheport, Missouri. Praise Yahweh and Messiah Yahshua for an assembly that has the resources to host brethren for the entire feast. Many brethren will be keeping this new moon as Abib and I wish to express my love to those brethren that they too will have an enjoyable Matzah. Every three years there is division in Yahweh's Assemblies about when the Scriptural year begins but these differences truly show the spirit to please Yahweh. Brethren demonstrate their conviction to Yahweh and Messiah Yahshua by following through with what they believe. Have a blessed Chag Matzah! I would like to apologize if you received three copies of yesterday’s request for the new moon watch. My email system has been giving me issues such as timing out and failing to send to specific addresses. The number of emails sent is approximately 1600 causing congestion so I am attempting to move this service to a new email service that Google will be providing. You will receive a confirmation email from Google to complete this migration. Thank you for your patience. Yahweh bless, James A. Meyer Frystown, PennsylvaniaGreetings everyone. Sandy walked out and saw the Sliver about 4 minutes later. Since I am getting "old" and my eyesight is NOT what it used to be, I did not spot it until 8:20 PM. Everyone is well. We have a new baby on the way. I almost fainted. I hope this e-mail finds you in the best of spirits. In Yahusha's Name I remain. Tewey Silver Run, MarylandGreetings from Silver Run, MD. The new moon was sighted at 8:00 p.m. EDT by myself and my wife. It was a beautiful thin sliver that became more apparent as the sky continued to darken. I first located it by scanning the sky with my telephoto lens, but it was easily visible to the naked eye at that time. I have attached a photo. James M. Graham and J. Dianne Graham

This second new moon Zif (on the Bible calendar being there was reported large fields of barley Abib in Israel last Roman month of March 2005 making the new moon, sighted after sunset 11th March 2005, during that time Abib 1st on 12th March 2005) is Abib 1st to those who chose not to acknowledge the Abib found in Israel on 8th March 2005 as genuine and to those who are determining the beginning of the Bible year based the equinox. She had her last Chemo treatment last week and is considered to be in remission. Please continue to pray that she has a complete healing. The doctors don't expect her to stay in remission, but with prayer all things are possible, and we know Yahweh still heals! Thank you all. Crawfordsville, IndianaShalom Bro. James, The assembly here in Crawfordsville In. did not see the new crescent this evening, 4/9/05. We had low clouds before and way after sunset. Shalom Warren Smith Jerusalem, IsraelThe Moon was not seen from Israel tonight (Saturday 9th April 2005). The atmosphere was hazy throughout Israel and the Moon was not seen from Jersualem, Beer Sheva or Kibbutz Saad. The Moon was only expected to have been visible if the sky had have been very clear. Please look again tomorrow (Sunday 10th). The Moon is expected to appear in Jerusalem between 18:42 and 19:08 when it will be between 20 and 25° (a span) high and slightly left of the Sun and remain visible until or almost until it sets at 20:54. Jerusalem, IsraelSecond Biblical Month So far no one has seen the moon from Israel on Saturday April 9, 2005. All the observers who have reported in have reported that the moon was not visible. There was a heavy haze across the land so it is unlikely anyone saw the moon tonight. Since this was an extreme moon we cannot say for certain that the moon would have been visible under ideal conditions. We will be awaiting reports from more observers, but the likelihood is that new moon will be tomorrow night, Sunday April 10, 2005. Nehemia Gordon April 10, 2005Jerusalem, IsraelSecond Biblical Month Part 2 On Sunday April 10, 2005, the new moon was sighted with ease from Jerusalem by Devorah Gordon at 19:07 followed by Ferenc Illesy and Nehemia Gordon. No one reported sighting the moon from Israel on the previous evening, Saturday April 9, 2005. Because visibility was uncertain on April 9, 2005 from Israel, the sighting on Sunday April 10, 2005 should be considered New Moon of the 2nd biblical month. Rosh Chodesh Sameach! Happy New Moon Day!
