Thursday December 1, 2005 Greetings brethren, I pray that this letter finds you and your family blessed. Yahweh has blessed us immensely brethren through Messiah Yahshua. The Word of Yahweh is taught around the globe as a guide to the many who where misled by the religions of the world. We desire the Messianic message that is unique from the worldly religions. Yahshua’s path is a search for us to find truth that leads to eternal life by changing our own path to emulate His. There are many paths to salvation according the religions of the world but Messiah Yahshua taught a set apart path which we as followers of Yahweh pray is magnified in us. This month is when the world observes one of the oldest false festivals magnified in the worship of the sun (not to be mistaken for the Son). The fear that the sun was gone required the sacrifice and festivals so that it would return. We may laugh at such folly but it is not the work of men that has created such evil but the work of Ha Satan. Like those who have put away evil to find Messiah Yahshua we too must examine our lives for that leaven as we approach the Days of Matzah. One of the traditions of the Rabbis was to search the home on days of Passover preparation for leaven with a candle declaring any leaven missed not to be their possession. This practice was due diligence because we all know that no matter how hard we work at salvation it is not our own work but the work of the Spirit within us that makes us more like Messiah. These last few days have been the days of Chanukah. These days celebrated the reestablishment of the priesthood and the dedication of the temple to Yahweh. We should spend time dedicating our temple to Yahweh in a similar manner. Leaving no defiled stone in the temple as the Maccabees searched and removed all evil they could discover. The prayer of the Maccabees was that no one would return Israel to bondage but as we know that did not last. The bondage of the Romans once again defiled the people. Yahshua came to restore the people that the Maccabees were unable to reach and reconcile. The Maccabees do teach us of the strength of righteousness to overcome evil and so I pray that you take some time this Chanukah to read about those trials in the books of Maccabees. New Moon WatchThe tenth new moon of the Scriptural year will likely be visible tomorrow (Dec. 2) evening in the US. It is unlikely to be seen in Jerusalem, Israel until Dec. 3. MoonCalc 6.0 shows the new moon as being easily visible in most of the US while Distant Suns shows the moon only a small 5 degrees and 19 minutes above the horizon.
