Wednesday, February 9, 2005 Greetings brethren, Blow the trumpet, the new moon was seen tonight in many locations. Here in Blue Springs, Missouri Laura, the kids, and I saw the new moon around 6:15PM. It was a great blessing considering we haven't seen the new moon here for at least a month. Praise Yah, I pray you have a blessed 12th month.

Feast of EstherThe sighting of this new moon marks the beginning of the count to the feast of Esther. Most of us live in towns without walls so the feast of Esther falls on February 23. The feast of Esther is not a set apart day as the feasts listed in Lev. 23, Num. 28 and 29 but is a time of rest and giving. It is a day that shows Yahweh's power to overcome evil through His people. So enjoy this as a sign of the latter rains which finish out the winter of Israel. Esther 9:17 This was done on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. 18 But the Jews that were in Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. 19 Therefore do the Jews of the villages, that dwell in the unwalled towns, make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another. 20 And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far, 21 to enjoin them that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly, 22 as the days wherein the Jews had rest from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to gladness, and from mourning into a good day; that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor. 23 And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them; Book of Esther Yahweh bless, James A.
