The new moon that marks the beginning of the third month is going to be visible Monday night, May 9, in many parts of the globe. Take time to look for this new moon and submit your reports to New Moon. Please include pictures and statistics such as how many brethren saw the new moon and when it was seen. 
Distant Suns - the new moon is 17 degrees and 26 minutes above the horizon on the ninth of May.
Moon Calc 6.0 - the moon on the eighth of May is only visible with magnification in the western United States. This would not be an acceptable sighting for moedim.

Hag ShavuotThe Feast of Weeks is almost here, we only have seven more days in the Omer count. Today is the forty-second day of the Omer count. The fiftieth day falls on May 15th which is the 6th day of Sivan, third month. Acts 1 reads that Yahshua spent 40 days with the disciples after the impalement and burial. Considering that Yahshua rose from the dead a day and a half after the wave sheaf offering the forty-second day of the omer count is the day that Yahshua actually ascended to Abba Yahweh. This year is the first time in many years that this aspect of the Omer count matches between the Sadducee and Pharisaical Omer count. (The Samaritan Omer count is one week later than the Pharisaical Omer count and is never in unison with Scripture.) Yahweh's appointed time has given us unity this year. What better way to celebrate unity than with the thought of Yahshua's resurrection on the day before the new moon of Sivan. Acts 1:1 The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, concerning all that Yahshua began both to do and to teach, 2 until the day in which he was received up, after that he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3 To whom he also showed himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing unto them by the space of forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of Elohim: 4 and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, you heard from me: 5 For John indeed immersed with water; but you shall be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days hence. 6 They therefore, when they were come together, asked him, saying, Master, do you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father has set within His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Observance of the Feast of Weeks is different depending on your congregation but I would recommend reading the book of Ruth, Lev. 23:15-22, Deut. 16:9-11, Numbers 28:26-31, John 14, and Act 2. Many families have fresh bread symbolic of the leaven of Messiah, the Ruach Ha Chodesh. We pray that we are filled with the personality of Abba Yahweh in all that we do, that we are merciful to those who are without. Mercy is one of the greatest blessings of the Feast of Weeks. Yahweh has provided the corners of the fields to feed the poor. Yahshua is the head of the corner. He has gone to the sinner, poor, and the sick because they are in need of Yahweh's help. (John 14) Yahshua continues this ministry today in us brethren if choose to follow. Deut. 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of Yahweh thy Elohim, to observe to do all his mitzwah which I command you this day, that Yahweh your Elohim will set you on high above all the nations of the earth: 2 and all these blessings shall come upon you, and overtake you, if you shall listen to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim. Deut. 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if you do not listen to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim, to observe to do all his mitzwah and his statutes which I command you this day, that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you.
Yahshua has lifted these curses if choose to follow. Yahshua has given us reprieve and shelter from the storm but we must make the choice. Have a blessed Hag Shavuot.
