Sunday October 2, 2005 Greetings brethren, I pray this letter finds you doing well and I pray you had a blessed Feast of Tabernacles as we did with brethren at Rocheport, Missouri. Please consider sending your pictures of the feast and time permitting we will post them online. The eighth new moon is expected to be visible on October 4th at sunset. There is a large group of brethren planning to keep the next new moon as Ethanim. Therefore, please be extra diligent in looking for this up coming new moon. The eighth new moon should be visible in most of the US if conditions are perfect according to MoonCalc 6.0. The new moon is again in the southern hemisphere so visibility in the north may be difficult. Here in Blue Springs it is doubtful that it will be visible because the elevation from the horizon is only 6 degrees at sunset. The possibility that it will be visible in Blue Springs remains because the moon will be 35-40 hours after the conjunction increasing the illumination of the crescent. In the southwest like Phoenix, Arizona and Dallas, Texas, the new moon is only slightly more elevated from the horizon but it may be visible before sundown because of the illumination. Jerusalem, Israel will not see the new moon until October 5th. Submit your new moon reports online at http://www.paleotimes.org/nmreport/nmreport.asp or leave a message at 484-653-5340. MoonCalc 6.0 - new moon easily visible from northern Florida to southern California.
Distant Suns - New moon only 5 degrees and 29 minutes above the horizon at sunset in Blue Springs, Missouri. The compass coordinates for the moon should be 247 degrees and 47 minutes.
