Greetings Brethren,

The new moon has been seen in South Africa, Dominica, and Alabama.  Here in Fredericksburg, Virginia the sky was extremely cloudy therefore there was no sighting here.  Have a blessed new moon.

Psalms 81:3 "Blow the shofar at the new moon, on our feast-day at the fullness of the moon."

Yahweh bless,

James A. Meyer

Johannesburg, South Africa

Shalom! The New Moon was observed from Johannesburg at 17h38. The moon was about 15 degrees above the horizon. May you all have a blessed Rosh Chodesh!

New Moon Greetings To All!

It's indeed a joy I must say to had been allowed of Yahweh to see the new moon beginning the Bible eighth (8th) month Bul this evening 23/10/06 as there was a huge piece of cloud above the horizon straight over where the sun set at 5:39pm ET. I was almost wondering. But I stood waiting and there it appeared from behind that huge portion of cloud by under at 6:02pm ET which is when I was able to have seen it. Either the cloud ascended or the new moon descended, thus allowing a naked eye sighting. As I stood there watching the new moon for about six (6) more minutes, there I saw the first star that usually appears after sunset as the cloud un-hid it. That star was above that huge portion of cloud. Observing the distance of the star above the horizon/sea, I noticed that the new moon was a bit closer to the horizon/sea than it was to the star. At that point, that huge piece of cloud was in between the star being above and the new moon being beneath the cloud.

This evening 23/10/06 sighting of the new moon means therefore, that beginning from this evening Monday sunset 23/10/06 when the new moon have been sighted, until tomorrow Tuesday sunset 24/10/06, is new moon day one (1) of the Bible eighth (8th) month Bul.

The twenty-ninth (29th) lunar day of this Bible eighth (8th) month will therefore culminate with Tuesday sunset 21st November 2006 which is when we are to begin our next new moon search, if it is Yahweh's will, for the new moon beginning the Bible ninth (9th) month Chisleu.

A joyous eighth (8th) new moon day and new month to all!

On Monday October 23, 2006 observers from Israel looked from the New Moon but it was not sighted due to clouds. Visibility was considered doubtful even under ideal weather conditions. New Moon day will begin tomorrow night (Tuesday Oct 24).

Dear Jim,
The Joe York family watched for the moon from 7:05 to 7:20 p.m. and did not see it. We did have hazy clouds in the southwest, however.
Blessings from Cisco, Texas!

Jim & Family, The sunset at 6:25pm a little hazy on the horizon. Watched for moon for about an hour and was unable to sight it.

West central, New Mexico

Hi James. Nice seeing you and your family at the FOT. We had fairly thick (though high) clouds here in west-central NM tonight (20061023, "Monday" night), so there was no good opportunity to spot the new moon. I checked from around sunset (~1825 MDT to 1850 MDT)--no view.
