Saturday January 20, 2007 Shalom Brethren, I pray that you had a blessed Sabbath. The eleventh new moon was seen by the Meyer family from Washington, DC. The new moon was rather high in sky when first seen at 5:20PM; 16 degrees and 37 minutes above the horizon. The new moon was visible almost until 6:40PM; 4 degrees above the horizon. The new moon was really bright on the perfectly clear sky. I pray that you have a blessed eleventh month. Additional reports will be added online to the What's New section. Thank you to all for your faithful reporting of new moon sightings. Shofar New moon at 5:20PM with Venus below and to right.

Yahweh bless, James A. Meyer Westminster, MarylandGreetings Brethren, The moon was in view while I was driving to a clear site near my home at 5:30 EST. This was the first time in many months that the skies have been clear enough here to see the new moon and it was a beautiful narrow crescent with the planet Venus just a couple of degrees to the right. James M. Graham III Carlisle, PennsylvaniaThe new moon was easily visible in the western sky and could be seen without any effort. May YHWH's people be blessed in the month ahead. B'Shem Yah'shua. Danville, VirginiaBrother James, it has been some time since we have seen the new moon though we have continued to look for it's appearance. Tonight it was beautiful and visual, we were able to see it at 6:32 PM EST although our skies were overcast here in Danville, Virginia. To see this work no doubt put into existence at creation is a soul thriller and worth all the times when it was unseen by the naked eye. Defuniak Springs, FloridaIt was a nice clear night to see the new moon. May Yah bless Westfield, OhioIt is always a blessing to see the sign of Yahweh in the heavens as to His Time and way of doing things for Months, Feast, and Sabbaths. (One observer with naked eyes.) Roseau, DominicaGreetings to each and everyone of you in our Savior's Name Yahshua on this what could indeed be new moon evening after Saturday-Shabbat sunset 20th January 2007. It was one of those aircrafts which lets off a white smoke behind it that I happen to observe was passing as I lifted up my eyes which led me to see the star first and then the new moon both at 5:52 p.m., four (4) minutes BEFORE the sun set awhile ago at 5:56 p.m. The aircraft past above the star and below the new moon heading South. Augustus Paul Troy, MontanaThe sighting was at 5:15 left of the sunset, and very high. Clarksville, ArkansasNot seen here - cloudy, rainy, sleet. Jerusalem, IsraelOn Saturday January 20, 2007 the moon was not sighted from Israel. Observers across Israel reported heavy clouds and rain. With 2.85% illumination and 88 minutes lagtime visibility would have been certain had there not been clouds. Therefore, for those who observe based on "potential visibility" the new month begins this evening (Saturday evening). Rosh Chodesh Sameach! (Happy New Moon!) Nehemia Gordon |
