Sunday June 10, 2007 Shalom Brethren,
I pray that this email reaches you doing well.
This new moon watch includes the announcement of a Scripture project that has
been ongoing for the last eight years called
Zikarown Say'fer and a newer
version called Memorial Torah Scroll (MTS). The Zikarown Say'fer started
as a version online resulting in requests for printed versions. Both the
online and printed version are actively being used. The Zikarown Say'fer
was based on old English from the American Standard Version. The MTS is
based on the 1911 Jewish Publication Society Scriptures for the Tanakh and the
Revised Standard Version for the Messianic Scriptures.
The goal was to produce a more readable
Scriptures with easy to pronounce Hebrew for proper nouns. The replacement
of proper nouns with easy to pronounce Hebrew is still in progress.
Additionally, the Hebrew and Greek requires notes in many places where there are
variations between the Textus Receptus for example and older texts. The
combination is that Scriptures in many modern translations were removed due to
inconsistencies between the oldest texts and the majority texts (Textus
Receptus). The Shem Tov Hebrew Matthew was also used to build the
clarification of peculiarities found in Greek.
This is an ongoing project. My current
timeframe is to have the first revision of the MTS available in bookstores by
the end of the year if that is Yah's will. I recognize that there is a lot
of knowledge among the Brethren and so this is an opportunity to share notes and
contribute to the end product. The final goal is to present a Scriptures
that reflects Yahweh's inspired torah which includes the Torah of Mashiyach
Yahshua.
Memorial Torah Scroll Forum
As a method to facilitate an open discussion I have setup a MTS forum.
Memorial Torah Scroll Forum If you
have difficulty signing into the forum please contact me. I appreciate any
effort that you can provide in proofing the MTS. First, textual proofing
starting with Genesis. Second, notes are needed to assist young believers
that might utilize this Scripture. Third, a separate book will be created
to assist in linking the MTS to Hebrew and Greek study aides such as Strong's
Concordance. A PDF version can be downloaded from the forum or a printed
version is available online at
http://www.lulu.com/paleotimes.
