Wednesday May 16, 2007 Shalom Brethren, I pray that you and your family are experiencing the blessings of Almighty Yahweh through Yahshua ha Mashiyach. Time seems to pass quickly; this new moon watch is the third new moon watch of the Scriptural calendar. It seems like just yesterday that we were observing Passover (Pesach) and the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Chag Matzah) but in reality it has been a couple months already. In ancient Israel, the barley harvest would be over around this time and the wheat harvest would be in full operation. The celebration of the wheat harvest is called the Feast of Weeks (Chag Shavuot) which will be observed next week. The count to Chag Shavuot starts with that first cutting of the barley on the same day that the omer offering is waved before Yahweh by the priests. From the omer offering, we count 50 days or seven complete weeks to the observance of Chag Shavuot. As Chag Shavuot approaches we can imagine a time when the priests of Yahweh offer two leavened loaves. This offering represents the pouring out the holy spirit (ruach ha kodesh) upon those that would dedicate their lives to Yahweh through Yahshua ha Mashiyach. (Acts 2) With Yah's help during the Chag Matzah we remove the leavening both physically and spiritually from our lives. The removal of leaven creates a void in which the ruach ha kodesh from Yahweh can fill. The void is filled with the spirit to guide us on the narrow path that leads to salvation. We give up the leavening of false doctrine and open our lives to the advocate from Yahweh. (John 15:26) We all need that extra help and that spirit to let go of prideful doctrine for a true doctrine (spirit of truth) to emulate Yahshua ha Mashiyach. Have a blessed Chag Shavuot. New MoonThe observance of the third new moon of the Scriptural year is likely to be easily visible tomorrow night starting with areas east of Israel and continuing through the United States of America.
