Thursday May 17, 2007 Shalom Brethren, Blow the shofar! It was a beautiful new moon tonight, seen by a group of brethren just off the Stafford County Airport in Virginia. Mark and Crystal Voynow; and James, Laura, John and Veronica Meyer first saw the new moon very high in the sky at 8:30PM EDST (-6 GMT) just over an extensive cloud bank. The image of the third new moon can be enlarged by clicking on the image below. The dark blue in the picture is actually the heavy cloud cover. We watched for about 15 minutes as the new moon disappeared into the cloud bank. Earlier today the new moon was seen in Israel. Please add Mark and Crystal Voynow to your daily prayers as they are new to the faith. May Yahweh's love be poured out through Messiah Yahshua on them as they seek his face. They are a young couple with so much to look forward to in the spiritual kingdom. It is a refreshing experience to discuss many of the same trials we all have experienced. James A. Meyer IsraelOn Thursday May 17, 2007 the New Moon was sighted from Israel. The moon was first sighted by Magdi Shamuel at 19:51 from Ashdod. The moon was also sighted at around 19:54 by Gila Sergani and several minutes later by Isaac Sergani from Arad. Rosh Chodesh Sameach!

Clouds increased just as the sun was set but cleared away from the area that the new moon should have been seen on three occasions and the new moon was still not seen. My search for the new moon began from sunset at 6:28pm and ended at 7:29pm. I'm happy however to share the following new moon confirmation for this evening which was communicated to me via e-mail from the area in the Middle East which our Savior Yahshua Himself referred to as "the city of the great King."
