Caledonia, Ontario, Canada

We had a clear sky tonight and were able to spot the new moon. It took us a long time to locate the new moon, the sun's glow had to greatly diminish before we saw it. Similar to last year's first new moon, we heard the robin's singing their hearts out. (Note, there were no robins to be found at last month's new moon. Robins are a big sign of spring for us.) Happy Holy Days, The Shields Family

Covington, Louisiana

Very hazy, however we saw it beginning at 1950 CDT. Watched it drop into the haze over Lake Pontchartrain.

The sky was clear but rather hazy near the horizon on April 6. The sun set about 7:45 PM. Neither I, nor John Bensinger watching from Wheeling, WV, were able to see the crescent having waited until about 8:15 PM when the light of the sun was quite faint and darkness was overhead. We will watch again on Monday, April 7. KK
