Shabbat Shalom,

I pray that all is well on this 30th day of the tenth month with you and your family.  There were no positive new moon reports this evening.  As seen in the estimations below labeled January 15 - the new moon was not expected to be visible this evening.  The sunset this evening started the 30th day which is always the first sunset to look for the new moon.  In ancient times the new moon would be declared with the righteous witnesses' testimony.  If the new moon was not seen at the end of the 29th day of the month it was declared for the next evening.  This in most cases kept the new moon, irrespective of weather, on track with visibility.  Science today calculates that the new moon cycle is almost exactly 29 1/2 days.  This demonstrates how our ancient relatives were knowledgeable observing the dates of our heavenly Father's calendar.

Observing the new moon validates that we are committed to Yahweh's calendar, rather than, being committed to any person who would declare the calendar.  The calendar of Yahweh is visible for all who will look for it so that no matter where the observer is located the calendar is there just as Yahweh is there.  It is truly a blessing to have a loving Elohim who enables a person in the most desolate situation to find the path to a home of Shalom.  Yahweh is there with us in the hardest of times providing guidance.  It can be difficult at times to bend our will toward Yahweh but we have to allow that calling to guide us.

The sunset at the close of Shabbat should mark an easily visible new moon in most locations including Jerusalem.  Australia will likely not see the new moon until the following sunset.  If the weather permits please consider taking some pictures of this new moon.  Usually this time of the year the new moon starts looking more like a Passover new moon here in the northern hemisphere.

Your reports can be submitted online through the following form, New Moon Report.  The following images can be enlarged with a click.
