Shalom Aleichem,

Blow the Shofar.  The new moon was seen by many brethren.  More reports are likely to come in this evening and will be added as reports arrive.  The first reports were from Israel and Dominica but others are likely to follow if weather permitted.  Brethren from Cisco reported that the new moon was not visible sunset last night.  Tonight here in Northern Virginia the new moon was not seen due to cloud cover.  It was such thick cloud cover that the sun didn't even make it through.  Have a blessed eleventh month.

Your reports can be submitted online through the following form, New Moon Report.

Yahweh bless,

Hodesh Sameach!
Happy New Moon!

It is with ease, I must say, I was able of visibly spotting the 11th new moon this evening Saturday 16th January 2010 at 18:04 (in 8 minutes after the 17:56 setting of the sun) because of fair atmospheric conditions and a clear sky. A long way left to go before it sets, I left off watching it at 18:12 to arrive at a surf cafe to send you this reporting in time before their close down time at 20:00 arrives.

A call came in from Sis. Jacqueline Francis-Massicot (recently joined in matrimonial wedlock with Bro. Craig Massicot on Sunday 1st November 2009) at 18:55:10 while writing this reporting, informing me that she and her entire family saw the new moon this evening.

We both spotted the crescent fairly early at 5:45 PM MST just after the Sabbath, 20 minutes after local Sunset. We had a full covering of high, thin clouds, but the moon shined through. I looked for it diligently on Friday night under ideal conditions, but couldn't see it. DM

Shalom b'shem Yahshua! I was scraping snow and ice off the driveway here, so I'm not sure when the crescent first appeared, but Bonnie and I observed rosh chodesh at 5:50 CST. Thrilling, beautiful and clear. CDK

On 01-16-2010 at 6:15 pm 3 witnesses from Tzur Yisrael saw the 11th new moon in TEMPE AZ. It was partly cloudy but the moon was quite bright. YBD

Our fellowship group meets near the end of the Sabbath. One of our group went out to look for the moon while the remainder continued with the Torah study. At 6:14pm Central time, he blew the shofar having sighted the crescent as the clouds opened up to see it. A few minutes later, many more of us went out to observe it, and we could all see it very clearly. My apologies for this late report. WWI
